The Best Overall Toilet – WOODBRIDGE Smart Toilet

The WOODBRIDGE is expensive. Very expensive. It’s not for everyone, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s the best toilet on the market. It has every kind of feature under the sun, including a robust flush mechanism and dependable water supply. This toilet makes it easy, but you have to pay for that.

The Most Bang for Your Buck – Ultramax II

The Ultramax II is nearly four times less expensive than the WOODBRIDGE, but the performance wouldn’t tell you that. It might not have all the fancy features like an air deodorizer, soft close lid, and automatic waste removal, but it does get the job done well.

It’s going to decrease the amount of water used by your bathroom significantly thanks to its tornado flush, which minimizes gallons of water usage while keeping up water pressure. It’s an affordable toilet that will do more than enough for 99.9% of you out there.

The Best Dual-Flush – WOODBRIDGE Dual-Flush One-Piece

WOODBRIDGE strikes into my top three for a second time. I’m a particular fan of dual toilets because of the control you get. You can choose your water supply usage, and with a bit of know-how, your water pressure.

This toilet is the best of that family. It’s got the kind of measurement that suits small bathrooms and looks great with almost every type of bathroom décor. It takes up less space, offers more water-saving, and has more strength than flush systems twice its price.

If you’re looking for a modern standard toilet for performance and mechanism quality, this is your pick.

WOODBRIDGE Dual-Flush One-Piece Toilet

Best Choice
The WOODBRIDGE Dual-Flush One-Piece Toilet Set is a premium and luxury piece of hardware. It’s not the most expensive toilet on the list, but it will cost you more than your simple one-piece or two-piece toilet.

Pros
  • Compared to other flushing toilets, this WOODBRIDGE is incredibly comfortable.
  • What makes this among the best flushing toilets out there is the siphon system. You get strong yet practically silent flushes.
  • A dual-flush system means you get control over your water usage rather than wasting 1.28-gallons per flush every time.
  • The sleek and modern design of the two-piece toilet looks great and is clearly designed with a specific house style in mind.
Cons
  • While this flushing toilet looks great, it's not going to work in every single home.
  • It's expensive compared to a lot of the other best flushing toilets.

This WOODBRIDGE model is a dual-flush, meaning you’re going to have more control over the gallons of water per flush that you use up. It meets all of the American standard regulations and goes above and beyond to make sure it excels in every category.

WOODBRIDGE Dual Flush One Piece Toilet 1 - Best Flushing Toilet in 2023: Save You Pain in the Bathroom - HandyMan.Guide - Best Flushing Toilet

The WOODBRIDGE Dual-Flush One-Piece Toilet Set is a premium and luxury piece of hardware. It’s not the most expensive toilet on the list, but it will cost you more than your simple one-piece or two-piece toilet.

What you’re going to notice first about the toilet is its strikingly modern design. It’s a toilet that has been designed for a modern bathroom, so that’s where it should stay. If you’re not a fan of that sleek and monochrome style, this toilet is going to stick out in your home like a sore thumb.

This flushing toilet utilizes a siphon technology that results in flushes that are both powerful and quiet. This system minimizes clogs and works tremendously compared to the systems used by a lot of other two-piece toilet sets.

This toilet has a dual-flush system. It gives you the option of 1-gallon and 1.6-gallon flushes, which is far superior to the single 1.28 gallons per flush that many competitors utilize.

The toilet seat is set as a bit higher than the American standard. This allows the two-piece toilet to act as a chair, making it incredibly comfortable.

WOODBRIDGE Dual-Flush One-Piece Toilet

The WOODBRIDGE is a Premium Two-Piece Flushing Toilet

Everything about this toilet screams premium, from the flushing system to the modern two-piece design, to the dual-flush. It’s arguably the top model out there for comfort, especially compared to any cheaper one-piece or two-piece set.

Hooking it up is easy with the bathroom fixture, even if it is a bit more complex than a one-piece flushing system. If you’re looking for a modern two-piece toilet design that has a flushing system and level of comfort that matches how good it looks, then you need this WOODBRIDGE.

Great Buy
The Drake II has a handle system. As far as I’m concerned, that type of design is completely outdated. Toto should know better, although the company has never been a fan of dual-flush mechanisms.

Pros
  • The Toto Drake II is easy to clean.
  • This toilet comes in a range of colors to suit every bathroom design.
  • The toilet is easy to set up with the right bathroom fixture.
  • The elongated bowl lets the toilet seat more people more comfortably.
Cons
  • The flush handle that the toilet uses is outdated.
  • It has a higher level of water consumption than many one-piece design toilets and two-piece design toilets.

The Toto Drake II is a great all-around toilet, although it’s hard to justify the price when you consider it’s running on outdated technology.

Toto Drake II

By outdated technology, I’m talking about the flush option and water efficiency. Toilets these days need to be designed with water consumption. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about one-piece or two-piece toilets; some thought needs to be given to how much water the design uses.

The difference between 1.6-gallons of water and 1.28-gallons of water might not seem like a lot, but it makes a massive difference when you consider every person going to use that bathroom.

The Drake II has a handle system. As far as I’m concerned, that type of design is completely outdated. Toto should know better, although the company has never been a fan of dual-flush mechanisms.

Even still, at least the tornado flush on the Ultramax II saved water. The Drake II uses 1.6-gallons of water per flush, which is at the higher level of water consumption.

That’s one major gripe I have with the toilet, but the Drake II wouldn’t be here unless some redeeming features made it worth buying.

Toto Drake II

The main thing that this Toto toilet has going for it over other two-piece toilets is that it’s silent. The flushing system makes a meager amount of noise, so you don’t need to worry about disturbing anyone when you come home in the dead of night.

It’s also fairly easy to clean compared to many other two-piece toilets, and that’s always a benefit.

The Toto Drake II is an Alternative Budget Pick

The Drake II hasn’t got the comfort height or chair height seating like the WOODBRIDGE, and it doesn’t have the tornado flush system that the Ultramax does. What it does have going for it is how quiet the flush is. If you’re worried about the noise that your toilet is making every time you flush it, then this is one of the more affordable silent flush toilets out there. Just be aware that it has a high level of water consumption.

WOODBRIDGE Smart Bidet Toilet with Remote Control

This new toilet design, however, is nothing like that at all. It might still make use of a gravity flush, but it’s been mixed with technology to optimize water usage and rim height comfort far beyond what other toilets can offer.

Pros
  • This is the best toilet available right now. It outperforms everything from the Champion 4 to the Ultramax II.
  • It uses less water than most other toilets per flush thanks to the auto-flush.
  • It's super quiet, thanks to its siphonic technology.
  • Easy to install considering the amount of technology involved.
  • This toilet even has tech support.
Cons
  • There's only one con, and it's that the toilet can cost over $2000. That's 10 times more than some of the cheaper toilets on this list. If you can afford it, however, you're never going to repurchase another toilet.

Every type of toilet that we’ve looked at up to now has been relatively traditional. The installation process for these toilets is simple, and most make use a pressure-assisted gravity flush system.

WOODBRIDGE Smart Bidet Toilet

This new toilet design, however, is nothing like that at all. It might still make use of a gravity flush, but it’s been mixed with technology to optimize water usage and rim height comfort far beyond what other toilets can offer.

The WOODBRIDGE Smart Bidet Toilet looks like something that just came off of a class-five rocketship. It utilizes flushing technology beyond what your regular wall-mounted toilets can, but it has a price tag to match that flushing mechanism.

The flushing technology used by this toilet isn’t just about saving water or composting toilet paper. No, WOODBRIDGE has gone above and beyond to make this elongated toilet as smart as it possibly can be.

It has a sensor that opens the lid automatically when you approach it, a bidet and warm air dryer that means you’re going to save a fortune on paper, an automatic flush that clears the bowl for you, and a built-in ionizer that uses a carbon filter to deodorize the air around you. If that wasn’t enough, it even has a heated seat.

This toilet can’t even be compared to your typical wall-mounted toilets. Forget your double Cyclone and your Champion 4 toilets and features; this model is just on another level entirely. Even the flush valve is incomparably superior to every other one on the market. It also happens to be easy to install, completing the entire package.

WOODBRIDGE Smart Bidet Toilet

Now, this wall-mounted toilet is expensive. It’s more expensive than even the best composting toilets. If you have the income to afford it, then you’re never going to need another toilet again, but that’s only if it can fit into your budget.

Remember that it’s not just about the box price of the toilet. You need to consider the possibility of buying replacement parts. A flush valve for this toilet will cost far more than a flush valve for something like the Drake II.

The WOODBRIDGE Smart Bidet Toilet is Premium Personified

If you’re looking for the definitive best option for your home, this is it. Forget all the different comfort height toilets or pressure-assisted toilets because this thing beats them all. It takes the title of the best toilet on the market, and it’s not even close.

Toto Ultramax II One Piece Toilet Set

The Toto Ultramax II One Piece Toilet Set arguably gets its name from the power of its patented “tornado flush” system. This system, designed by Toto, turns the Ultramax from a decent piece of kit to one of the best toilet models on the market.

Pros
  • This one-piece is the single best flushing toilet on the market.
  • The tornado system allows for less water usage compared to other flushing toilets.
  • The power of the system eliminates the need for a dual flush.
  • It meets all of the American standard regulations set out by the EPA and CEC.
Cons
  • It's pretty expensive for a model that doesn't have any extra fancy features like a bidet.
Toto Ultramax II One Piece Toilet Set

Toto is a well-known brand for making quality flushing toilets, which might just be the best of them. It’s a toilet with a small water usage footprint, a very easy to assemble construction, and a strong flushing system.

The Toto Ultramax II One Piece Toilet Set arguably gets its name from the power of its patented “tornado flush” system. This system, designed by Toto, turns the Ultramax from a decent piece of kit to one of the best toilet models on the market.

Toto describes this system as “a hole-free rim design with dual-nozzles that creates a centrifugal washing action.” Translated to English, that means you’re going to be saving gallons of water per flush with the elimination of a dual flush system.

Despite using less water, this one-piece toilet is incredibly powerful, scrubbing the toilet bowl and creating more pressure on every flush.

Toto Ultramax II One Piece Toilet Set

The Toto Ultramax II is the Best Flushing Toilet on the Market

If you’re purely looking for a flushing option with no frills or thrills, the Ultramax is what you’re going to want to chase. It’s a powerful one-piece system that outperforms its competitors when it comes to flushing power as well as the gallons of water per flush that get wasted.

This is the American standard for a quality flushing toilet and is among the best of the best in raw performance on the entire market.

This Glacier Bay toilet bowl has a one-piece design and is the best dual-flush toilet I’ve seen thus far. It’s not a new toilet, and it doesn’t do anything too fancy, but that’s why it’s so great

Pros
  • This toilet features an elongated bowl that's easy to clean.
  • The toilet seat that Glacier Bay comes with is comfortable.
  • The style of the toilet lets it fit in with any style of bathroom.
  • It's more affordable than a lot of other one-piece toilets.
  • You have the option of 1.1-gallons and 1.6-gallons per flush.
Cons
  • It's not as fancy as a new toilet. There's nothing like a double cyclone flushing system or anything of that nature. It's an effective albeit simple type of toilet.
  • There are reports of composting toilet paper getting caught in the system due to a lack of pressure-assisted flushing.

This Glacier Bay toilet bowl has a one-piece design and is the best dual-flush toilet I’ve seen thus far. It’s not a new toilet, and it doesn’t do anything too fancy, but that’s why it’s so great. It has an elongated bowl that’s easy to clean, a comfortable toilet seat in the box if you don’t want to buy your own, and the comfort height is great, too.

Glacier Bay Elongated Bowl All-in-One Toilet

You have the option of 1.1-gallons or 1.6-gallons per flush, which is obviously an advantage over any one-piece design that only uses one water level.

The toilet itself is made from white vitreous china. This material is less likely to fade and crack on you, meaning the toilet will look better for longer.

On the topic of looks, this toilet blends that new toilet looks with something more traditional brilliantly. It’s not modern, but it’s not classic, meaning it can comfortably fit into any bathroom style.

On top of all that, this Glacier Bay Elongated Bowl Toilet is far more affordable than many other one-piece toilets that offer the same type of performance.

The Glacier Bay Elongated Toilet is a Perfect Budget Pick

While this toilet isn’t as quiet as the Drake II, it doesn’t need to be. It outperforms it in almost every category.

Glacier Bay Elongated Bowl All-in-One Toilet

This elongated toilet is water conscious, uses less toilet paper thanks to the dual-flush, and has a more comfortable seat than the toilet seats with most other new toilet models.

It’s unbelievably affordable for the quality that it delivers, making this one of the best budget toilets on this entire list.

Buyer’s Guide

Those are all the flush toilet model options that I recommend, but that doesn’t mean you have to buy them. I haven’t talked about great brands like Kohler K that produce some great high-efficiency toilet flushing systems.

If you don’t like the bowls and model options that I’ve featured, don’t worry. I’ve put together a guide highlighting what I look for when buying a model to help you make your own mind rather than just following my opinion.

Brand

The brand isn’t everything, but it can be an immediate indicator of quality. Brands like Kohler K and Toto are well known for producing great flushing systems in various bowl shape options, so you know what you’re getting from these companies.

If you see a great-looking high-efficiency toilet model from a brand that you’re unfamiliar with, make sure you do some research. If a company that only makes floor drain grates suddenly develops a model toilet, you need to be skeptical about the quality.

Color Options

This isn’t everything, but having different colors and styles to choose from in your toilet model can be a big benefit. While the flush’s high-efficiency is the most important factor at the end of the day, you still want your bathroom to look good.

Now, there’s no toilet taking home a title purely for appearance, but it is a bonus if you can get a good toilet that also matches your bathroom’s appearance.

Remember, you put a lot of time and money into your home, so it’s only natural that you want it to look as great as it possibly can be.

It’s not just about the color, though. Think about bathroom interior design; there are different decorations and style options that all need to work with your toilet’s appearance. A sleek one-piece smark toilet bowl design isn’t going to work with an old-fashioned rustic room.

Your bathroom needs to feature a toilet that not only knows how much water to flush but looks great doing it. Luckily, there are countless different toilet designs out there, so you should be able to find one you like the look of.

Features

Features, features, and features. This is what separates the best toilets from the mediocre ones. Just look at the WOODBRIDGE Smart Toilet. Features are what that toilet is built off of.

It’s not the most important factor, but it’s pretty close. Aside from the toilet’s actual flush, features are the second most important thing to look out for.

While it’s more common to find them on a smart toilet, some regular toilets have certain features that make them easier to clean or deal with solid waste and water use.

Read More:   How to Drill Into Cinder Block – Best Step by Step Guide

If you’re spending over $250 on your toilet, you want to make sure that you’re at least getting a dual-flushing system on your toilet, if not a few extra features for your money.

Flush System

This is the most important aspect of any single toilet you’re ever going to buy. The whole point of a toilet is to flush liquid and solid waste, so if it can’t do that, it’s practically useless.

The best flush toilets utilize a combination of different systems to make the flush stronger and more water-efficient. It doesn’t matter if the bowls you’re looking at are connected to the wall or the ceiling; a good toilet needs to have a good flush. It really is as simple as that.

Regulation Compliance

All toilet bowls in all bathrooms around the country, whether a smart toilet or a manual one, need to be ADA compliant.

Being ADA compliant means following rules and regulations laid out regarding water use. Toilet bowls can hold a surprising amount of water, which needs to be regulated to prevent unnecessary waste.

Different types of toilets have different flushing action systems, so ensure that your toilet is complying with water savings regulations.

Material

It might be surprising, but the material that different toilet models are made out of makes a difference. Ceramic is much more fragile than materials like vitreous china, so you want to get your tank and bowl made from that if you can.

There are ever clean surface options that a toilet uses never to get skid marks, but those materials’ performance is still up in the air. In general, if you want a self-cleaning toilet, you need to buy a smart one.

Most high-end toilets are already using high-end materials, but you should be double-checking the tank and bowl if you’re shopping on a budget.

Bowl Size and Comfort

Different models of toilets are built for different things. Some high-end models and smart toilets might do it all, but we have to pick and choose what we want for most of us.

Bowl size and comfort should actually be towards the top of your list. Having a toilet that people hate to sit on is miserable and can create some serious issues when you think about the long term.

The seat height is the main thing that affects this but features like having a round bowl also play a part. Different models also have different seat designs, so you need to be thinking about all of this when you’re shopping around.

Go for a toilet that is being recommended for comfort and flush power above all else.

The Extras

There are a few specific situations that are going to change what you’re shopping for. For example, the Americans with Disabilities Act outlines some toilet regulations and guidelines for people with mobility issues, so you need to consider that.

FAQs

What is the best flushing toilet on the market?

It’s hard to say what’s the single best model out there is. Bowl cleanliness, floor space, and powerful flushing are all things that define the best but might be valued differently by different people.

For my money, the WOODBRIDGE Smart Toilet is the top option on the market. It’s compliant with EPA Watersense, has overflow protection by automating the pouring of water into the bowl, and it has one of the most powerful flush mechanisms I’ve ever seen.

Are smart toilets worth it?

Smart toilets are relatively new types of toilets to make a splash on the market. These toilets have a program designed to provide you with the most comfort without doing any work. These toilets are automatic and typically feature a max flushing system.

These toilets are not necessary and extremely expensive. They are a luxury but a worthwhile one. If you can afford a smart toilet, get one.

What should I look for when buying a new toilet?

I’ve outlined everything to look for in my buyer’s guide, but here’s a quick summary:

  1. A powerful flush.
  2. Color scheme.
  3. Features.
  4. EPA Watersense compliance.
  5. Comfort.
  6. Material.
  7. Brand.

What toilet does a professional plumber recommend?

It’s almost impossible to say, they are individuals, after all. Generally speaking, a plumber isn’t going to steer you wrong with your toilet choice, but each one will likely have a different recommendation for you.

They’re going to be considering different homes, looking at low flow and pressurized air toilets that will work as smoothly as possible. The issue with that is that while the best of the best, these types of toilets cost a fortune and have many moving parts, meaning more work for the plumber.

Rather than looking towards a pro, use your own head to figure out what kind of toilet you need.

Why is water conservation important?

The Environmental Protection Agency has several different rules and regulations regarding pressure and water usage. A Watersense certified toilet complies with all of these rules.

This is important for two reasons. First and foremost, it’s better for the environment. We don’t want to wastewater for several reasons, including recycling and pollution plants and processors to use more electricity.

The second reason it’s important to conserve water is for efficiency. If you’re flushing 1.6-gallon bowls every time you use the bathroom, that’s going to add up, and you don’t want that when you’re paying for water.

Why are high-quality toilets better?

A “designer toilet” might seem like a foolish concept, but it actually makes sense. We spend a decent amount of time on the toilet, and it’s arguably the most important piece of the house. You can live in a house with no TV or tables, but you can’t live in a house with no toilet.

So, if you can afford to, it’s only natural to look for a toilet that is stacked with options and performance feature extras.

High-quality toilets have things like a soft close seat, a heated seat, a noise level reducing quiet flush, air pressure driers, a spray jet, automatic toilet flushes, and more.

You have to pay for all of these features, but it completely transforms your bathroom experience.

Are dual-flush toilets better?

Dual models are my toilet of choice, but it depends on who you ask. I argue that single flush toilets are terrible for liquid waste. You don’t need the same amount of water to get rid of liquid waste as you do solid waste, so there’s a need to control how much water your toilets use.

A dual mechanism makes it easy to control these water measurements, meaning your water tank doesn’t waste a full flush every single time. If everyone in your family uses the toilet, this makes a massive difference in the long run.
